Just over the hill from Lake Zurich lies an interesting playground for photography subjects. It’s forest, marshes and gardens offer endless subject matter for honing your nature photography skills. Matt and Dagmar Anderson will lead the hunt for colourful flowers as well as frogs, snakes and birds. There’s something for every nature lover to photograph at this enjoyable nature oasis.
Our group will rendezvous at the Zurich HB (Museumstrasse 1, 8001 Zurich) before driving to our location in the Viewfinder van. After a short orientation tour, participants are encouraged to explore and photograph their surroundings. Matt and Dagmar Anderson will be available to provide technical and creative tips for macro, birdlife and other nature subjects.
Our group will take a midday lunch break (at the informal park restaurant) and after a bit more afternoon shooting we’ll call it a wrap – returning to the Zurich HB by ca. 17:00.
One hour’s drive from Zurich HB.
EN/DE: This trip is conducted in English but both trip leaders speak German and English fluently.
The Viewfinder van will depart from the Zurich HB at 8:30, returning in the evening by 17:00.
Open to all skill levels and all ages. Foundational photography skills, such as those covered in Viewfinder’s popular Digital 1-2-3 Photography Course are helpful but not required.
If you’re interested in macro (and if you own a tripod) bring that along. Those wishing to photograph birds, frogs, butterflies and other smaller or distant subjects, will appreciate having a telephoto lens. Zoom lenses (or medium length fixed lenses) will give you the flexibility to capture the landscape scenes around you.
We’ll pause for lunch around 12:00 and grab a quick bite from the informal outdoor restaurant in the park. Please bring some cash to purchase a meal or snack.
Minimum of 5 participants, Maximum of 10.

Albeit a rather soggy visit to Seleger Moor, I had a great time and met a great bunch of people. Matt and Dagmar, well done for organizing a great day out.
