If you’ve just started your digital photography journey and need some basic skills to build upon, this two-session evening course is the perfect place to start. You’ll be ready to “break up” with automatic mode at the end of the second session and start getting creative.
Our starter course meets for two evening sessions in Zurich. Our approach is to offer friendly, hands-on learning that familiarises you with your camera’s functions and how to use them in real photography situations. Join us as we take the mystery out of digital photography and put the creative control in your hands.
Viewfinder Center, Stampfenbachstr. 157, 8006 Zurich
This course is conducted in English.
This is a beginners course and is open to anyone. If you are just starting with digital photography then you’re in the right place.
We recommend a digital SLR camera (a camera with changeable lenses) or a mirrorless camera (such as those from Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic or Olympus). We are “brand-agnostic” at Viewfinder, so any camera brand is just fine. Please be sure to charge your camera battery and bring an empty memory card to the course.
Minimum of 5 participants, Maximum of 9
Registration closes two days before event.
This course meets for two evening sessions from 19:00 to 21:30 at Viewfinder’s Zurich classroom. Your instructor will present foundational photography theory interspersed with short in-class shooting exercises that familiarise you with key camera settings and functions. For those wishing to practice in between lessons – a homework exercise is also provided during the first session.
If you are looking for a more in depth experience, check out our popular Digital Photography 1-2-3 Course or our Digital Photography Follow Up Course (as an extension of the Digital Photography Starter course curriculum).
Fascinating. Clear presentation and not overloaded with info. I can finally understand the basics of my camera.
Not only is Matt knowledgeable but he makes it fun. The participants were great. Learned a lot from them as well.
