If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with black and white photography, but weren’t sure where to begin – then this creative photography trip is perfect for you. We’ll get you started with some compositional tips to help add interest and intrigue to your own black & white photos. The right subject matter makes all the difference and we’ll surprise participants with a secret shooting location and on-the-spot discussion about “composing without color.”
Meeting at the Zürich main train station at Museumstrasse 1, 8001 Zurich. Shooting location to be announced on the morning of the outing.
Provided by Viewfinder Center. We’ll depart from the Zurich HB at 10:00, returning in the evening by ca. 16:30.
EN/DE: This trip is conducted in English but both trip leaders speak German/Swiss German and English fluently.
Open to all skill levels and all ages. Foundational photography skills, such as those covered in Viewfinder’s popular Digital Photography 1-2-3 Course are helpful but not required.
Come with whatever camera gear you have. It’s helpful if your camera can photograph in RAW format (most digital cameras do) but even this is not entirely necessary. We’ll focus on creativity and improving composition in a way that benefits your own black and white photography – rather than overly technical or more equipment-related strategies.
Viewfinder provides a sack lunch on Saturday (sandwich, chips, apple, chocolate bar & water). Select the sandwich of your choice during registration.
Minimum of 5 participants, Maximum of 10
