3 - 9
Our Digital Photography 1-2-3 is a beginners course and is open to anyone. If you are just starting your photography journey we recommend that you start here. The three different sessions are designed to build on each other as students progress.
We recommend a digital SLR camera (a camera with changeable lenses) or a mirrorless camera (such as those from Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic or Olympus). We are “brand-agnostic” at Viewfinder, so any camera brand is just fine. If you own a 50mm lens please bring it with. Otherwise we have several 50mm lenses for Nikon and Canon cameras which you are welcome to use during the course. Please be sure to charge your camera battery and bring an empty memory card to the course.

Matt Anderson is the principle instructor and director at the Viewfinder Center. Matt has been living in Switzerland since 2008. His photography career began sixteen years ago while studying journalism in the United States. As a daily newspaper photographer he acquired a broad base of photography skills and found himself shooting all manner of subjects from sports and news events to portraits and feature assignments. Working as a regular freelancer for the Associated Press, he learned some important lessons about shooting under pressure. These days he balances a busy teaching schedule with photography projects for commercial clients in the Zurich area. Matt’s work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association (USA), and the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers.
The Digital Photography 1-2-3 Course is a mix of theory presentation, short in-class exercises and afternoon shooting assignements. These courses are always fun and cmpletely free of "photo-snobbery." The course instructor is a professional photographer and experienced photography teacher who enjoys working with beginners.
After completing this course you'll be well prepared for these upcoming photography courses!
