Open to all skill levels. Foundational photography skills, such as those covered in our popular 1-2-3 Digital Photography Workshop are strongly recommended for this photo tour.
Our Botswana Photo Tour is a combination of glamorous camping ("glamping") and high-end Safari Lodges. These locations have been selected for their excellent access to shooting locations, unique facilities, fantastic service and top-quality cuisine.
For the duration of the tour, Will Jansen will be your professional African tour guide and trip host. Expert photography advice is provided by photographer/film-maker Wim Vorster. Will and Wim know Botswana's best locations like the back of their hands. Traveling with them, you will constantly learn about the flora and fauna of Botswana, how to improve your wildlife photography, plus many interesting cultural facts about the country. With Will and Wim you'll be able to interact with locals in a way which would otherwise be impossible.
Will has been guiding since 1998 and in 2009 made the change to photographic safaris. With years of experience in horse and field guiding the focus shifted towards capturing the wild in its most raw form and creating tours that enable his guests to capture the power and beauty of Africa's unique wildlife and scenery – through their lenses. Will is not solely focused on wildlife but also strives to help his guests interact with cultures across the whole Southern Africa region.
After finishing school in South Africa, Wim undertook his national diploma in nature conservation at the Tshwane University of Technology. Keen to continue with his studies Wim then completed his B-tech degree in Nature conservation and chose to study the secretive brown hyaena as the topic for his research project. Wim went on to work at the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. During his time at Sabi Sabi Wim also completed his FGASA (Field Guides Association of southern Africa) level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications and discovered his true passion for predators and wildlife photography.
