The Viewfinder Center is managed and directed by Matt Anderson and his wife Dagmar. Matt is responsible for course development and for teaching a number of Viewfinder’s photography courses and workshops.
Matt’s photography career began in the USA where he worked at three different daily newspapers and freelanced regularly for the Associated Press in Seattle — where he grew up. These days he regularly shoots for the Zurich-based Keystone agency and works with corporate and private clients in the Zurich area.
Matt’s three passions are: exploring new places (near and far), creating impactful photographs, and helping other photographers become more creative and effective in their craft. Matt feels privileged to work in a business that combines his passions and brings him in contact with so many interesting people from all over the world.
Viewfinder Center’s office maven; Dagmar Anderson, can be found working away diligently behind the scenes – where she assists with planning, instructor coordination and student inquiries at Viewfinder.
Dagmar is a traveler at heart with chronically itchy feet who enjoys exploring new countries, cultures and cuisine as often as she can. Dagmar’s long experience as a professional nurse in Switzerland makes her a great resource on longer, more remote trips. She’s helped her husband Matt out of trouble on more than one occasion!
Alex Arias' love for the outdoors and wildlife are what lead him into nature photography. For more than 15 years he has been introducing guests to the natural wonders of his home country, Costa Rica. He helps them achieve the best possible nature photos and have wonderful experiences during their travel adventures. Alex has photographed countless animal and bird species across all corners of Costa Rica (and beyond) and he enjoys sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with his guests. His goal has always been to deliver a unique (and educational) experience as workshop participants capture some of their all-time best photographs along the way.
A’ron Schmukle picked up his first camera at age 10 and has been fascinated by the creative and technical sides of photography ever since. His main passions are wildlife and landscape photography and he travels widely in search of new subjects and scenes.
A’ron has developed a strong expertise with Adobe software and takes pleasure in helping other photographers master their own digital workflows.

Erwin Windmüller's photographic career has taken him around the globe and introduced him to many of the world’s best and brightest. After cutting his teeth as an agency photographer in Zurich, he moved on to photograph for the biggest brands in fashion, living in Paris and New York for more than 20 years before returning to his home country of Switzerland. In addition to photographing for Vogue, Elle, GQ, L’Oreal, and Yves Saint Laurent, Erwin is the principle photographer for Swiss Universe (1st and business class magazine for Swiss airlines). A powerhouse of energy and creativity, Erwin is as approachable and thoughtful as he is enthusiastic for the craft of photography.
Michael Bissig feels at home while photographing in the Swiss Alps. Although he lives near Zurich, he spends as much time as possible in the mountains. As a Swiss adventure and lifestyle photographer he concentrates mainly on shooting for the outdoor industry. His photographs of athletes and outdoor enthusiasts get used by companies like Mammut, the Swiss Alpine Club and various tourism agencies.
Michael is able to draw on his extensive mountaineering and athletic experience for his outdoor projects and adventure tours both at home and abroad, showing Viewfinder students how to get great shots in spite of negative temperatures, rain and stormy winds.

Susanne Venditti picked up her first camera 30 years ago and has never looked back. The switch to digital photography allowed her to push her creativity further and intensified her desire to produce more images. Susanne grew up in Kanton Valais, here in Switzerland – which helps explain her fascination with beautiful landscapes.
Macro photography is one of Susanne’s biggest passions and she takes pleasure photographing the details that others miss. Susanne’s enthusiasm for nature is infectious and fun. Her landscape and macro expertise come in particularly handy on workshops and macro photography courses where she helps students find compositions where others wouldn’t look.
